Strandgard, 83, of Coal Valley, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020, at Amber Ridge Memory Care, Moline.Combined services for Mr. and Mrs. Strandgard will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Beulah Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley.Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.Memorials may be made to the church. Burial will be in the Western Township Cemetery, Orion.Alex Strandgard Jr. was born on September 30, 1936, in Rapids City, IL, a son of Alex and Irene (Quick) Strandgard Sr. Alex married Harriett Crawford on September 9, 1961, in Edgington. Mr. Strandgard was a schoolteacher for the East Moline School District No. 37., retiring in 1994 after many years of teaching.
