James J WilsonAugust 22, 1953 - December 27, 2024James (Jim) Wilson, 71, of Asheville, passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2024 while visiting his daughter in Rhode Island. Jim was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandpa, brother and friend.Jim was born in 1953 in Moline, IL to Harry and Doris Wilson. He attended United Township High School and after graduating began working at John Deere, where he remained until his retirement in 2006. After his retirement, he devoted his time to family, auctions, and hosting legendary yard sales. Jim & Annette moved to Asheville in 2018. He was an outstanding neighbor and was always doing what he loved best, helping others.Those who knew Jim, admired him as an endlessly kind, clever, and persistent man. He could find anything, fix anything, and make anything. He would brighten someone's day with nothing but a dollar and a trip to the thrift store. He could often be found in his garage tinkering with a bike, car, instrument or collec
